Safety | TLC Construction

At TLC Construction our priority is to protect each one of our employees. Which is why TLC made safety meetings a priority every week before sending our team into the field. At this time, temperatures are higher than ever, which is why we make sure that our employees take breaks as often as needed. Our dedication is based on one simple value: We have a moral commitment to provide a safe and secure environment for anyone who comes into contact with our operations.

The safety of all individuals in contact with our operations is best served because our people care about other people – we are responsible for the security of every individual working on, visiting, or passing by our operations.

Our project teams implement and engage the most proven, effective safety management tools, strategies and equipment to maintain a safe jobsite. All of our operations personnel have completed OSHA 10 and 30-hour training, which empowers them to consistently monitor our operations for potential unsafe conditions. Should any potential or perceived hazards be observed, they immediately initiate corrective actions.

For a project to be successful, it must be safe. TLC instills a culture of safety in each of our employees during the earliest stages of their careers. We know from experience that our safety program, planning, and training is tremendously effective, which allows our highly skilled teams to continue to build on our industry-wide reputation for safety excellence.

Our company maintains an unwavering commitment to safety, focused on preserving the welfare of our employees, subcontractors, clients, and team members who visit our jobsites as well as members of the public adjacent to our project sites. Weekly safety meetings are attended by TLC Construction personnel and subcontractors. We maintain a written safety policy. Job sites are regularly inspected for safety issues and the results are passed on to employees and subcontractors for action. On-site Project Superintendents enforce all safety issues and they require employees, subcontractors, and suppliers to abide by TLC Construction and OSHA standards.

Capturing this information and striving to improve as a team that sends a strong message at TLC — and for everyone on a TLC jobsite—no priority is higher than safety.

As we look for ways to make safety week more meaningful, focusing on falls and fall prevention is one of the most important topics. Step ladder safety and falling object protection and prevention are critical parts of our overall plan.

Safety Week is a great time for our crews to share meaningful safety information and to ask our Team, “What can we do to improve safety on our project's? Our goal is to keep the spirit of Safety Week alive each and every day throughout all the year through our employees and subcontractors.

As we near the end of National Safety Week and the OSHA Safety Stand Down, it’s important to remember that every week we offer the industry an important opportunity to unite together in our focus and commitment to safety. We are proud to join in this community effort. This focus comes at the traditional time the construction industry kicks into high gear, so what better time to crystallize our ZERO INJURY expectation and celebrate safety? Our top priority is a zero-injury work environment every week and all year long. We know we are stronger and safer together.

This attention to quality in commercial construction is matched only by our focus on safety. In 2018, TLC was awarded the “Zero Injury” certificate by OSHA. We obsess over safety because, simply put, it’s the right thing to do. It also means fewer delays and a jobsite where we are free to bring our best ideas to the table, day in and day out.
